SUKRUTHAM

Sukurtham is a charity initiative to support financially unsound patients for surgeries and also renal failure patients from underprivileged sections of the society whose numbers are increasing day by day. Through Sukrutham charity elective surgeries like Hernia, Appendix, etc. will be conducted with minimal cost to support poor patients.For the renal failure patients even a single dialysis costs between Rs.1500 and Rs 2500 at other centres, which needs to be performed at regular intervals. It may vary from 8 to 12 times a month and unfortunately it is a lifelong requirement. Sukrutham has come as a boon to the poor and needy as they can get quality medical facilities with concession in hospital charges. The expenses are met by collecting donations given by philanthropists

PALLIATIVE CARE AND CHARITY CLINIC

This clinic is guided is by the Palliative Society of Calicut, Government Medical College which has a team of highly qualified and trained doctors accompanied by nurses and volunteers. Besides them people from different walks of life come to serve these patients. This is a great relief for the chronically and severely ill patients as it provides a psychological support. The clinic was incepted in the year 2003. Until now, more than 2000 patients have been registered in the clinic and among them about 65 % are cancer patients. Besides giving treatment to the patients, the hospital is also giving support to the members of the family. A substantial amount of money is being spent for this purpose. This clinic is conducted on weekly basis. Here the patients who are unable to continue further treatment and those who are referred back from multi-specialty hospitals are given compassionate care for the rest of their lives.

Apart from that, the clinic also provides home care to those patients who are not in a position to visit the clinic. All the patients registered under this clinic are given medicines free of cost. Diagnostic procedures are also performed for them free of cost and also conduct Friday charity clinic for poor patient at free of cost

SENIOR CITIZEN HEALTH CARD

After the age of 65, people are prone to various chronic diseases. The situation gets worse for those who hail from the financially backward class. Quality medical care is out of their reach. The hospital has identified about 200 below-poverty-line patients above 65 years. They are given free medical aid.

ICTC- ‘JYOTHIS’ CENTRE

Jyothis or Integrated Counselling and Testing Centres (ICTC) provide HIV counseling and testing and treatment referrals free of cost. The main functions of an ICTC includes early detection of HIV, provision of basic information on modes of transmission and prevention of HIV /AIDS for promoting behavioral change and reduce vulnerability, and link people with other HIV prevention, care and treatment services.

DM CENTRE (FREE TB TESTING CENTRE)

Tuberculosis is prevalent in this and in the neighbouring localities. Designated Microscopic Centre is a centre to strengthen and improve Tuberculosis control activities and is part and parcel of the Revised National Tuberculosis Programme (RNTCP) launched by the Govt. of India. As a collaborating partner of RNTCP, we perform sputum smear microscopy as per RNTCP guidelines free of cost in our DM centre.

DRUG BANK

Our Social Service Wing and the Pharmacy Department lead this drug bank. Patients who are in need of free medicines are identified and the same is collected and distributed to both outpatients and inpatients

CHARITY

At Santhi Hospital, the treatment expenses for various diagnostic and therapeutic procedures are comparatively less, even for high-end medical services. For the destitute and needy patients the hospital is giving concession and free treatment after studied about patient background and financial positions.
